Free, but turned out to be scam

I got a message on my Discord saying that I have won 1.6 ETH (which is now worth about $6000) and it also told that it was giving this money to random people found in Discord channels. The message gave me a promo code which lets me collect that amount.

Mousetrap and bitcoin coin

I went to their website and created an account, and applied the promo code they gave. And it instantly added that amount to my balance. I thought it was real. For a type of verification, I copied the ETH address the website gave, and then searched that address on etherscan and it turned out that there was no amount in that account. This got me suspicious.

I just wanted to try it more. And that made me give my name and my address, and it also got me to activate the 2-Factor-Authentication, making me do all this made me think that it was a legit website. And while trying to withdrawing that money (1.6 ETH) to my personal crypto wallet, it told me that I needed to deposit some money for some “human verification” and that “verification” money was not low, it asked me about $150 in Bitcoin.

And all this stopped me from trying the website anymore. I tried searching that website on Google for some reviews. And I haven’t even found anything about that website on the internet. And after all this I learnt that it was a scam and that discord message was just a scam to get people into using it and depositing their hard-earned money.
